Kapella Hair Care Guide

Brushing & Detangling

  • Enjoy your new hair and treat it with the same care as your natural hair. Invest in quality products and consistent haircare.

  • Brush gently using a soft-bristle brush. We recommend a Tangle Teezer or Wet Brush. Always use a conditioner or detangling spray before brushing.

  • Start at the ends and work your way up to avoid pulling, sectioning the hair as you go.

  • Hold the roots while brushing to reduce tension on your natural hair and extensions.

Cleansing

  • Use a sulphate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner.

  • Always shampoo twice and rinse thoroughly.

  • Cleanse 2–3 times per week to prevent product build-up.

  • Apply conditioner only to mid-lengths and ends avoid the roots.

Drying

  • Gently pat hair dry with a towel  do not rub.

  • Blow-dry in clean sections, starting from the bottom and moving upward.

  • Never allow extensions to air dry at the root, as this may cause matting.

  • Apply heat protection and a lightweight oil before drying. Oils/serums and heat protectants are recommended.

Styling

  • Always use heat protection before styling with hot tools.

  • Avoid excessive heat on extensions; style at approximately 180°C / 360°F.

  • Extensions can be styled like natural hair  finish gently with a small amount of oil or serum.

Sleeping

  • Secure hair in a low, loose braid or ponytail before sleeping.

  • Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and frizz.

  • Never sleep with wet hair  this can lead to tangling and matting.

Swimming & Holidays

  • Avoid chlorine, saltwater, and direct contact with sunscreen; wear a slim hat when possible.

  • Blonde extensions require extra care  avoid tinted creams, self-tan, or products that may stain the hair.

  • Tie hair up and rinse immediately with clean water after swimming.

  • Use a leave-in conditioner or UV protectant for additional protection.

Maintenance Appointments

  • Schedule regular refits:

    • Wefts: every 6–8 weeks

    • Tapes: every 8–10 weeks

    • Nanos: every 10–12 weeks

  • Do not attempt to remove or reapply extensions on your own.

  • Routine blow-dries, treatments, toners, and trims help maintain healthy ends and maximize the longevity of your extensions.
